The Khalili Center for Bariatric Care is a partnership among surgeons: Theodore Khalili, MD; Gregg Kai Nishi, MD; and Eraj Basseri, MD. These doctors have worked together for more than ten years at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, one of the largest and most renowned facilities of its kind in the world. Doctors Khalili, Nishi and Basseri have operated on more than 4,000 patients togetherand developed strong professional and personal relationships in the process. As the former Director of Weight Loss Surgery for Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Theodore Khalili not only personally had the opportunity to train Doctors Nishi and Basseri, but he also trained many other bariatric surgeons who have gone on to head up bariatric care programs all over the country.
In forming the Khalili Center, Doctors Khalili, Nishi and Basseri are joined by their colleagues: Steve Chen, MD FACS, Pediatric Surgery; Ritu Chopra, MD, Plastic Surgery; Pedram Enayati, MD, Gastroenterology; and Omid A. Shaye, MD, Gastroenterology. Dr. Steve Chen, the former Director of Pediatric Surgery at Cedars-Sinai, brings a wealth of expertise to the Adolescent Weight Loss Program at the Khalili Center. Dr. Ritu Chopra is a noted plastic surgeon who, among his many specialties, is an expert in body contouring for bariatric patients. Doctors Pedram J. Enayati and Omid A. Shaye are a dynamic team who are noted specialists in bariatric gastroenterology.
