I have a friend who had a successful gastric bypass a few years ago, He insist that the doctor told him he could eat whatever he wants just not a whole lot at one time. He is a fast food junky and is always eating fried food, no fruits or veggies. It doesn’t seem right to me that a doctor would say it is okay to eat fast food every meal as long as the portions are small. Anyone agree??
Your friend can eat all the junk he wants, but in the long run, it may come back to bite him. Gastric bypass is supposed to be a tool towards getting a lifestyle change to eat healthy and change those old eating habits that caused so many problems and contributed so much to being obese. Even though your friend cannot eat as much, he still can take in quite a lot of extra calories with the choices he is making. He is not really having a lifestyle change or using the tool as he should. He may be one of those that will gain back their weight in the future.
