i am trying to lose weight so that i can meet the requirements for a bariatric surgery. I believe it may be a gastric bypass. i am unsure what foods qualify for the low carb high protein part of my diet
I use to do the south beach diet and the first 2 weeks is no/low carbs and high protein. I lost like 10 pounds in 2 weeks! I was great! I mostly ate meat such as chicken, steak, and turkey. Sometimes I made bread-less sandwiches, so a slice of reduced fat cheese, mayo (regular) and turkey. It was really good and perfect for the diet. I also had a lot of unsalted nuts and edamame.
Another good alternative is New Whey Liquid Protein. It’s a 3.8oz dietary supplement that has 42g or protein. Tastes pretty great and also comes in like 7 diff flavors. This is also a great post bariatric surgery drink as well. My mom had gastric bypass and after she had to do a liquid diet and fell in love with the stuff.
Hope this info helps!

As in I had gastric bypass on the stomach that stretched due to weight gain and a pregnancy can i get the Lap Band on it. Might sound crazy I was just curious.
Might be another option to see your original bariatric surgeon and see if he can do a revision. It will make the pouch smaller (and maybe it was made too big to begin with). I have a friend who had this done as he never really got as small as he hoped, despite diet and exercise. Turned out his pouch had stretched but was made too large to begin with. He’s lost the rest of his weight and feels great!
