It takes a lot of courage to say that. I have no health problems at all and weigh over 300 lbs. I’ve been considering WLS but have been curious as to the side effects. I always hear about how great it is and I never hear about the side effects or what can happen – thanks so much for this! :) Now here I go back to the gym! heheh :D I’m doing this the long way around.

OMG, i wish i had watched this before i had surgery. I was 19 when i had RNY and had no co-morbidities, i did it just for vanity. I now have nerve damage in my legs and seisures as well but my doctor said that i t has nothing to do with RNY? but I truly believe it is.. I am SOOOO Glad i came across this.I went from healthy and fat to less fat and unhealthy and in constant pain..do you have any info on seisure and or nerve damage? links to info?

  20. jayhere40 Says:

    You are so right!! …
You are so right!! I had my RNY! in 2006 I ended up in hospital and very neary died of a twisted bowl in 2007, My hair fell out, I have a iron deficiency and have to get my B12 jabs!! and take all the vitimins. Its no joke, And to top it all I’v put on weight? The Dr told me I would never put weight on again after having RNY. Iv put on 2 stone!! and counting. I to had no heatlh problems before. they say that I have to go on a diet. well diets didnt work thats why I had the surgery remember?

  21. CheekyThrill Says:

One thing – did you …
One thing – did you really do it totally for vanity, I mean at 300 pounds how much can you do? Can you go indoor rock climbing, skating, even run and play with children? I also don’t think it’s really “vanity” when you consider that society treats you like for being overweight. I have gone from being a healthy weight to obese and noticed the difference in the way I am treated by everyone, even family. Thanks for posting this, I’m going to have Lap-band, RNY too risky for me, a mother.

Man– this is tough-I also went in for Lap band- but was “talked out of it” because at 52- I was so old- why wait- I would have to come back for the gold standard rny after the band failed me! ugh– I also am -was healthy- no probs- but I knew at this age the knees- the joints the other stuff would probably be around soon enough- and I was tired of never being normal–I worry alot about the issues you experience– I have a bit of hypoglycemia anyway- -I was told revisions were possible…???

  25. angie2sm Says:

    hi, thanks for …
hi, thanks for telling me all of this, i am 3 wks out RNY, i cant keep anything but liquids down right now, mushy keeps coming back up after 2 bites and sometimes 1. so going to talk to my surgeon about that tmrw. thanks for subbing to my channel. i am 28 and had no comobidities either when i had it, mine was for health reasons, my genes are horrible and i dont want to have all those things happening just because i am obese at a young age like them and not vanity. u r great! talk to u soon!
