Yes, I had my … Yes, I had my gastric bypass in April, and I’ve lost 80lbs. What I meant by my comment is that we go through such radical change during surgery, and I know how difficult it is to change eating behaviors, but for me, anyway, I am committed to change and not having altered my insides in vain just to jump at the cheetos or other junk food again. I’m not saying it’s easy, but it’s worth the extra effort.
Actually I am … Actually I am feeling like POO again now Yesterday was really rough. I am dealing with a lot of tiredness and nausea that strikes in the late afternoon and evening. I think I will probably make a video about it soon. I just want to be OVER this part dammit!!!
hey thanks for the … hey thanks for the suggestions!! I’ll have to check out the cheese doodles. How you feelin?? I’ve been so behind on videos, hope all is well!!
oooo…love the … oooo…love the cheeze doodles and the dried fruit idea from Gerber Graduates! I looove cheese, but this seems like a better option, at least for the soft foods stage. I dont care much for the Vienna meat cans, but after I am on a liquid diet for a while and am craving meat, I’ll eat them. ) Thanks for all the ideas! I’m making a list of things for after surgery…my surgeon may not do the surgery but I am not giving up and I am trying to stay positive. ) Have a great weekend! ☮
I take Celebrate … I take Celebrate vitamins..they are for bariatric patients. I ordered them online. I was having a real problem with vitamins…and these taste awesome! It is called Calcium Plus and it is Strawberry Creme flavored. I also take their orange flavored multivitamins. Every other type I tried sucked soooo bad…but these are really good!
Hey! -Yeah, I … Hey! -Yeah, I talked to my surgeron, which he is one of the top surgeons for gastro surgeries in the US. He said that the viactiv will go down smooth, and it has what you need in it. I have been taking them, and they are nice… He said we could, and Joe my fiance is 46 days out and has been taking them 2 times a day, and his calcium is right where it should be… and he prefers them over the chalky crap… glglglglgl
You are one of a … You are one of a few people who recommended the viactive to me! Doesn’t that one have calcium carbonate in it though?? I thought we needed the calcium citrate?
I am SO glad that I … I am SO glad that I don’t seem to be having any problems with that!! I love milk, and cheese and dairy products in general. When did you discover that you were lactose intolerant? Was it right away after surgery?
try os-cal chewable … try os-cal chewable, you can find it at any drug store, I bought it at target, it is a lemon chiffon flavor and is sugar free, each chewable has 500mg calcium so I take 3 a day good luck!
I have taken … I have taken Citrical Petites since 2 weeks post op. They are not chewable, but are made smaller and easy to swallow. I have not had any problems with them. I was actually on an antibiotic after surgery that was a larger pill to swallow than the petites.
chewable calcium… … chewable calcium… get viactiv, the carmel is awesomeeeeee and chew it up… those are awesome, Thats what Joe and I use… there are also chocolate, those are great too!!
I will have to look … I will have to look for them. I am not sure if we have a Walgreens near by… but I would make a trek just about anywhere in search of some good calcium. LOL Thanks!!
Great that your … Great that your feeling better! I never liked lemonade before but it seems like Minute Made light lemonade is one of the things I can get down. I can hardly get regular water down either and I used to love water.
Thanks so much for … Thanks so much for posting this. I feel like I’ve made a new friend! REALLY! Great suggestions, etc. Here’s onle from me — When you’re ready for solids, eat the hummus with raw veggies in a bowl and get another bowl with melons and other fruits and just scarf on that all day and you’ll actually LOSE not gain 3 pounds a day. Somehow it revs up your system like nothing else. . . .
